East Side Invention Club

The East Side Invention Club is for 4th and 5th graders.  Members are selected each fall through an application process. Any 4th or 5th grade is given the opportunity to complete an application. Students in the club work in a group to create an invention that makes like easier. The students brainstorm their invention, create a design plan, make a prototype, create a display, and make a presentation on their invention. Our students annual compete at the annual Invention Convention at Middle Tennessee State University. This club gives students an opportunity to learn to work in groups, research, design, test, and revise a project, and teaches them presentation skills. Our club has been fortunate to have three groups of students that have been asked to present their invention at the National Invention Convention. Sponsors are Ms. Richardson and Mrs Castelow.
