Our classrooms are spaces where history comes alive. This February, we celebrate Black History Month by honoring the legacy, culture and contributions of black leaders and changemakers, and by uplifting the voices of our #students today.
Together, we will continue building a future rooted in knowledge, equity and respect.

We are proud to support the work of our Youth Leadership Bedford students, who have chosen to lead and organize Bedford Co Cares – A Walk for Junior’s House as part of a service project focused on awareness, compassion and community impact.
This awareness walk is designed to shine a light on the important work of Junior’s House, a child advocacy center that protects, heals and advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Through this effort, funds raised will directly support services for children and families right here in Bedford County — while also helping educate our community about why this work matters.
The walk will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and is open to students, families, school groups, teams and community partners. Participants are invited to walk together in unity, honor survivors and show visible support for children across our county.
As an added bonus, this walk is a great conditioning opportunity for students and community members preparing for the #CC5K in May, making it a meaningful way to stay active while giving back.

Due to projected snow and icy conditions expected this weekend, #BedfordCountySchools will be CLOSED on Monday, 1/26, and Tuesday, 1/27.
A decision about SACP will be made by Sunday at 1:00 PM.
Superintendent of Bedford County Schools Dr. Tammy Garrett explains that this decision gives families time to plan and make other arrangements for their children. While the exact type and amount of precipitation is still uncertain, forecasters are forecasting this to be an extreme weather event with dangerously cold temperatures on Monday and Tuesday, which could make travel unsafe. The safety of our #students, staff and families remains our top priority.
Please use this time to #StayWarm, #StaySafe and enjoy the extra days to rest and recharge. ☕🧣
Continue to monitor our website and social media channels for any additional updates or information, and be on the lookout for a special video this weekend! 🎥❄️
